Albuquerque may have a bit of a strained relationship with hydrogen. In 1957, a Mark 17 hydrogen bomb was accidentally dropped in the outskirts of the city when a release mechanism failed on an Air Force B-36 bomber. It didn't go off, and the incident was kept secret for decades.

Toyota is no stranger to the World Car Awards—which are in their 12th year—and has previously been recognized as part of the top three with the Toyota Prius (2010) in the categories of World Green Car and overall World Car of the Year. This year, however, the Toyota Mirai is the vehicle on a pedestal, as it won its segment of 2016 World Green Car.
