Toyota Earns the Highest Number of Top Safety Pick Awards from IIHS for 2015

Despite tougher safety requirements, Toyota leads the pack for the prestigious Top Safety Awards from IIHS for 2015. In all, Toyota as a manufacturer earned 12, including vehicles made by Toyota for the Lexus and Scion brands.

  • To qualify for 2015 Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must earn good ratings in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests, as well as a good or acceptable rating in the small overlap front test.
  • To qualify for 2015 Top Safety Pick+, a vehicle must meet the Top Safety Pick criteria, plus earn an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention.
