Summer is dwindling down and whether that fills you with dread or excitement, there are a few events that you do not want to miss before the close of the season. Albuquerque hosts many events in which the public is welcome to attend and enjoy the warmth and company of other locals. So, before you start to welcome fall, be sure to check out these four events.
Peanuts and Cracker Jacks
There’s nothing better than spending a summer evening at the ballpark with a hot dog in hand and friends all around. If you haven’t made it to an Albuquerque Isotopes game yet this season, you’d better hurry because there are only 13 home games remaining. The best part? Tickets start at just $7. Be sure to check the schedule out here.
Market Finds
Throughout summer, you can find artisan goods, fresh food, and live music at the community-organized Rail Yards Market in Barelas—only 15 minutes from the center of Albuquerque. The market is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in a historic downtown neighborhood in the Rail Yards site. It’s a great event for the whole family with its educational demonstration zones.
Music and Food Trucks
Cottonwood Corners is hosting Westside Summerfest, an outdoor event with live music, artisan booths, children’s activities, and food trucks galore. The event starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 26. Performers include pop/rock soloist Melanie Anne, new-country band The Real Matt Jones, The People, and Chubby Checker and the Wildcats. The cherry on top is that it’s free to all and pets are welcome when on leash!
Mac & Cheese
Oh boy—we are pumped for the third annual Macaroni & Cheese Festival! Can you imagine endless amounts of macaroni and cheese made by renowned local chefs? Us either. That’s why you should pack up your friends and head to the fest on Saturday, August 19 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. This 21-and-older event will include live music and lawn games to enjoy. Buy your tickets now to save. Tickets are $45 in advance and $60 at the door.
With these four events under your belt, you can feel satisfied with the summer you had and welcome the fall with open arms. Want to go but don’t have a car to get you there? Find your new Toyota with us at Larry H. Miller American Toyota Albuquerque.
