The Toyota Research Institute has released a video demonstrating how the technology to allow cars to drive themselves will appear in their cars, and how drivers will interact with and benefit from the technology. The video demonstrates two different modes. Guardian, where the driver operates the car and the system only takes control if demanded by the situation; and Chauffeur, where the autonomous vehicle platform is in control from the start.
